Chile Nuclear
Overview
This project has the aim to place Nuclear Power as an alternative source of energy to decarbonize the electric grid of Chile by 2050. By preparing talks with experts, activities, reactor visits, and more, we spread knowledge about energy production to the student community.
My Role & Contributions
As founder and part of the current team of seven, I am primarily responsible for:
- Organising talks, making contact with experts on the field of energy.
- Applying to funding from university and external organizations.
- Creating social media content to boost online presence.
- Developing the roadmap of the proyect and future activities.

Challenges
The biggest challenge is the already in place reputation of Nuclear Power, built on top of myths and hollywood exageration. We are starting from a bad point so the work needed is double what is common to spread an idea.
Learnings
The interest about Nuclear Power is really high inside the engineering community, but very dim outside of it. We have to focus our work into sharing knowledge with non engineering related fields such as humanities and law.
